Made this new poster for @imyeek for his track this time! LMK what you think!
Yeek recently released a new album titled Valencia with some absolute bangers filling up to compete in the R&B space with songs such as "M.H" "3000 Miles" and one of my favourites "This Time". This album manages to be catchy and chill and is probably the best work Yeek has put out.
Overall this album deserves more recognition. It is kind of the missed opportunity of the year in music, with not too many new artists putting out the quality work they have done in the past. Yeek was able to break this trend.
The Album
"M.H" is an electronic pop song which is a nice change to what we usually hear from Yeek. It is catchy and enjoyable, with some wispy laid back vocals with a catchy beat that compliments Yeeks singing on this.
The track "3000 Miles". The song is really chill and slower. It starts slow and builds up a bit with a driving bouncy bassy synth that pushes it forward, and in the chorus is in all its dreamy, Aaliyah-like glory.
"This Time" is another one of my favourites. The song is a little slower and has a simple keys tune that has a sullen structure to it, and also is built around a nice soulful outro. The song is clearly about losing someone and asking them not to “run away this time”. I’ve always been a fan of this reflective tone from Yeek.
Conclusion
This was a great album that I have listened to numerous times, and now it's a definite must have for you, your playlist and your life. If you're a fan of The Weeknd, Frank Ocean, then you're going to love this.
